Xichen Deluxe Tour Reviews

Overall rating: 4.5 stars (173 Reviews)

This tour was so incredibly worth every penny!!! The shuttle service picked us up from our hotel (we stayed at the Marriott by the airport which was about 1 whole minute away from where they have all the tour buses parked). We rode on a very comfortable tour bus with AC and reclining seats. They served us breakfast and our tour guide told us all about the site we were visiting. Once we arrived, he guided us for a while and then let us explore on our own. His name was Jorge and he was a WONDERFUL guide. Very passionate about the subject. Once we returned to the bus, they had cold beers and waters waiting for us along with cold towels!! We drove into Valladolid for a DELICIOUS buffet lunch and then headed for the sink hole. We napped the whole ride home. I HIGHLY suggest this tour. It was well worth it and we had such a fantastic and beautiful day. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Nashville, TN
The leader of my English group on Saturday December 19, 2015 to chichen itza was incredible. I wish I could have spent more time with him... His telling of the history was engaging and his passion for the job made it even better. How lucky you are to have him on your team. What a beautiful and informative trip this was! Also the the food on the bus and the restaurant was great and the bus was comfy! Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Cleveland, Ohio
Its a good tour to know more about Mayan history Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from SanJose,CA
Well organized and very informative tour. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Wish they have given some more free time for shopping. we had to rush through shopping to get back to bus on time. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Chicago, IL
I truly enjoyed the trip, it was amazing, and the guides were really knowledgeable, and very attentive. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from
The tour guides were excellent. I was amazed how well the transit center transfer worked. I only have a couple of small quibbles: for those of us who are 6 ft. or over, the seats were extremely cramped, and they became impossible when the seat in front was leaned back! Fortunately there were enough seats in the back so that those of us who were taller could fit. The snack provided on the way was not very good --in my opinion. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Ciudad de Buenos Aires
We enjoyed every part of this trip. Quite a lot of stuff included in this full-day trip, food and service were brilliant at both places. We got a very good guide/team also. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Bridgwater, Somerset, UK
Miguel, Nestor and Henry were wonderful - informative, funny and helpful. The bus was comfortable and the cold drinks and towels were a blessing. We had an amazing and unforgettable day that I would highly recommend to others. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Christiansburg, VA
Slow start. Need to increase efficiency from hotel pickup to bus exchange at Xcaret. Good breakfast, lots of drinks available all day, excellent lunch. Fantastic tour guide - lots of info provided. Would have liked more time at Zaci and Valladolid Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Vancouver, BV
Although we had to re-schedule the tour on the next day due to a misunderstanding with the tour operators doing hotel pick-ups, the tour itself was amazing. The driver was courteous and operated the bus safely and with ease. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and made the entire day a true pleasure. I would definitely book another trip with Cancun Adventure, you made re-scheduling easy and by way of your wonderful staff made our day a day to remember. My husband and I had an amazing time in Chichen Itza. The tour was very informative and detailed. I felt like we were well prepared for the day. The only thing I would change would be the time we had to explorer in Valladolid, it is very short and the town is very nice I wish I would have had time to walk around and look at the shops. The food at the restaurant La Casota was amazing, very authentic and delicious. I would gladly recommend this tour to my friends. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Oregon
The archaeological site was great and I highly recommend tours like this. Lunch in Valladolid was good, but there was not much time in the city and for visiting the cenote. The travel can be improved... Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Germany

Overall the tour was great. I wasn't that impressed with the sinkhole portion of the tour and heard other sinkholes were more interesting so that would be my only complaint. Score: 4 stars Recommended: YES from New York
Great trip with expert tour guide. You can get a lot of detail about the culture and history, which is cool. This is totally worth of the time and money. Score: 4 stars Recommended: YES from Harrisburg, PA

Omar and his companion as far as being our travel guides were wonderful. They explained all about out trip. We had such a wonderful time with our grandchildren doing this one adventure as we had many adventures that we did in Mexico while we were there on spring break, as I said Chichen Itza was a wonderful experience I would recommend it highly to anyone. Our your guide did not speak English well. he 95% used Spanish and used little bit of English. He wasn't even sure about some regular details about the attraction. Unfortunately I dont remember our tour guides name. There were 2 guides one was George and other one was the one who was not good enogh. Score: 3 stars Recommended: YES from Australia

The buffet at the restaurant in Valladolid was sooo good!!! I was able to have the real Mexican food :) but I wish they could have giving us more than 30 min to eat. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Charlotte NC USA

The day was very well run, comfortable coach and excellent tour guides both on the coach at the site. The English speaking guide at the site had excellent knowledge of the culture and history. Lunch was excellent. The whole day met all our expectations. There could be a few less stall holders at Chichen Itza. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from
My partner and I were very impressed with the information and service provided on this tour. It was obvious to us that our guides were going above and beyond. The food was good, the bus was decent, the day was LONG. We got cool cloths for our faces after spending time in the sun and lots of water to drink. Very well organized! Our Tour guide Pedro was very knoledgable and prepared. Only thing i would change is the breakfast on the bus. Sandwich for breakfast was not really what you want at that hour. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Los Angeles, CA

Great comfortable tour, Hymmie and Jaun were both great and very informed tour guides, we had a great time. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Spokane. Washington
The trip is an all day excursion and is enjoyable. Chichen Itza is a place that everyone who has a chance to visit should do so. The bus ride there is long without much to see on the way. Our guides where nice but talked almost no stop for the two hour ride there, it was a little too much. The breakfast provided on the bus was more like a lunch, it was a turkey sandwich with a muffin and orange juice. There was coffee for those who drank coffee. One we arrived we were given headsets so we could hear our guide, great idea. Umbrellas were available for those who wanted them to protect from the train or sun. Next we received lanyards to carry a bottle of water on our tour around the site. There are vendors all over the site and they call out to you and approach you but just ignore them and enjoy the history of the area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and spent about 90 minutes taking us around and explaining all the ruins. Then we had a little over an hour on our own to explore. This was the time we spent shopping for the local handicrafts from the vendors. The guides discouraged us from buying here and suggested waiting till the next stop in Valladolid, where we would be having lunch. However if you are careful about what you buy and can haggle on prices then buying from the vendors can be fun. I purchased a marble chess set for a great price. Next it was back to the bus for soda or beer and ice cold towels to cool off. Once onboard it was a short trip to the restaurant for a great buffet lunch and a poor excuse for a souvenir shop. I'm very glad I made my purchases with the vendors. It would have been great if we could have spent time in the town to shop but it was back to the bus to see the sinkhole. The trip to the sinkhole took 10 minutes and to be honest it wasn't worth getting off the bus for. Back onto the bus and more beer, soda or water and ice cold towels again, very nice touch. Then we were off for our return back to our hotel. On the way we were given survey cards to fill out, sorry not interested in doing homework. Then the guides passed out some local candies, collected the cards and it was a great chance for everyone to catch a nap after a long day. We booked our trip online and saved $25 off of the price the travel agency at the resort charged everyone else from our resort that came with us. I hope you enjoy this day trip as much as we did. I can't say enough about this tour. It was great, from start to finish. We had Jesus for our guide, he was awesome. As he said, "we would be walking with Jesus." Highlight of our Cancun trip. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Columbus, Ohio

Our Guide Miguel is very knowledgeable, respectful to elderly participants and friendly. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Indianapolis IN
This tour is very enjoyable, the guide, Jorge, told us a lot about the ruins while on the way so we didn't have to waste a lot of time actually at the ruins. Very nice. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Omaha, Ne
The excursion to Chichen Itza and Valladolid was a highlight of our vacation. The tour was very well organized and paced. The microphones and ear pieces used by our delightful guide, Juan Jose, made it possible to listen to information while taking photos. The dinner in Valladolid was delicious and perfect after touring Chichen Itza--a wonderful buffet in a beautiful city. Seeing Valladolid and walking around the colonial city was one of my favorite parts of the day. We're so grateful for small touches like a cool towels and drinks when we returned to the bus. Thank you for a memory that will last a lifetime! Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Upstate New York
Great tour; guide was excellent. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Toronto Canada
We enjoyed the tour with Cancun Adventure to Chichen Itza and Valladolid. We started with a nice breakfast on our way to Chicken Itza. My only complaint is the warm weather the tour guide was thoughtful about the umbrellas so I had a cover from the sun besides my big hat. I strongly recommend everyone to get your sourvenirs from Chicken Itza - a lot cheaper than in Cancun. There was much to see at Valladolid and the buffet was just okay but it was pretty decent compared to the buffets from any of the theme water parks. Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from San Francisco, CA
Amazing!!!!!!! Score: 5 stars Recommended: YES from Paramount,CA
