  • Coba pyramid
  • Coba Lagoon
  • Zip line and kayak in Coba Mayan Encounter tour

  • Coba in the middle of the jungle

Unforgettable adventure tour to the Mayan ruins of Coba including Zip-line, Cenote, swim, Rappelling, Canoe paddling and much more.

Visit ancestral city of Coba, an archaeological site hidden deep inside the jungle. Climbing the Nohoch Muul temple (the tallest pyramid of the state), you will be able admire the pristine beauty and immeasurable vastness of the surrounding sub-tropical rain forest.

Then we will visit an authentic Maya village, a self-sufficient Maya community living next to an integral part of the regions lagoon system. You will walk you through the Maya communitys forest, learning the mysteries of their local fauna and flora.

Your unforgettable off-track adventure tour then begins: exciting zip-line flying over an incredibly beautiful Cenote, a refreshing swim, rappelling down into another Cenote, and canoe paddling on a lagoon of enormous beauty. And to end it all, a delicious traditional lunch prepared by the women of this Maya community.

Jonathan ("JJ") was an excellent guide--knowledgeable about history and local culture, as well as experienced with the adventure activities, and enthusiastic as well. The small-group environment (only 9 on our tour) was great. The meal prepared by the Mayan ladies was delicious. The technical guys who helped us get into the rappelling and other gear seemed very confident and well-trained, and the equipment was in excellent condition. The highlight of the tour for me was swimming in the underground cenote, with the Mayan welcome and blessing that preceded it. I felt that the cenote must have been a holy place for the Mayans, and it was an honor to be allowed into it. We did a lot of activities but it did not feel rushed, the pace was perfect.

Had a wonderful trip. The tour guided JJ was fantastic. I learned a lot about Mayan culture and the temples. I enjoyed the adventurous activities (zipline, repelling, kayaking). I enjoyed eating the tradition Mayan lunch. I definitely glad to see, learn, and walk to the top of the Coba temple.

Our second tour with alltournative and it was great. The action parts (zip-lines, rappelling, canoeing, swiming in cenote) were one of the highlights. Climbing on top of Nohoch Mul pyramid in Coba... wow... but next time I would rent a bike in Coba, because the archaeological site is very big.

This tour was bought for my husband and I as a honeymoon gift and it was the first one we went on on our trip. It's definitely a tour for those looking to do something a little different and really learn a little bit about the history of the area. Our tour guide Hugo was amazing, the lunch was fantastic and we got some really great photos of us kayaking, ziplining, rappelling, and swimming in the cenote.

Loved all the adventures! Here's what you do: canoe across an open cenote, walk thru some jungle to the zip line part (I think there's 3 total), have lunch (awesome by the way), have a blessing ceremony by a Mayan elder and you learn a little about their religion and culture, then repel down into a cenote, either climb back out on a rope ladder (I did it and it was so much fun!) or you can be pullied back out by the help at the top, then in the van to Coba Ruins, history lesson on the area (very educational), then rent a bike and travel to the other side of the area to climb the ruins which is a SPECTACULAR view at the top! Unbelievable that this is all done in a day! If you want your dollar to go far and do multiple things in one day, this would be it! Our guide Juan Carlos was AWESOME!!
